About Harry’s
Our Story
Nestled in the heart of Tisbury’s High Street, Harry’s on the Square carries forward a beloved local legacy. Formerly known as Beatons Tearooms, this much-loved spot has been a community favourite since 2010, a welcoming haven for locals and visitors from across Tisbury, Salisbury, and the wider Wiltshire countryside.
Now under the ownership and name of Harry, who has proudly worked in the business for over 15 years, the café has been lovingly transformed into a modern yet classic tearoom. With its soft green tones, oiled wood finishes, and calm ambience, Harry’s on the Square offers guests a serene space to unwind, enjoy homemade meals, and savour artisan drinks crafted with care.
Still guided by the same friendly team and community spirit, Harry’s passion for home-cooked food, freshly baked goods, and quality loose-leaf tea shines through in every detail. Whether you’re stopping by for a leisurely breakfast, a hearty lunch, or an afternoon tea with homemade cakes, you’ll find a warm welcome and the comfort of genuine hospitality.
THE HEART OF
TISBURY
At Harry’s on the Square, everything begins with community. As a family-run café and tearoom in Tisbury, we take pride in being part of the local fabric: a gathering place where friendships are made, stories are shared, and visitors feel instantly at home.
Our menu reflects our roots in Wiltshire’s countryside. Fresh, rustic dishes inspired by homestyle cooking and seasonal produce. We’re passionate about sourcing from local partners, from award-winning eco coffee to fine wines supplied by Gardner and Beedle, our trusted Salisbury wine merchants.
Customers often tell us how refreshing it is to find an oasis of calm in the centre of Tisbury, a space where great food, great company, and a genuine love for what we do come together. Whether you’re a regular face or visiting for the first time, Harry and the team are always ready with a smile, a friendly chat, and a perfectly brewed pot of tea.
WHO IS
HARRY?
Harry has lived in Tisbury for almost his whole life and has deep roots in the community. After leaving school, he initially thought about joining one of the uniformed public services, drawn to the idea of serving people in a meaningful way. But in 2010, he got his first job at Beatons Tearooms as a Kitchen Porter and that was the start of a lifelong passion for tea, food and hospitality.
Over the years, Harry worked his way through every part of the tearoom, from the kitchen to front of house, learning the ins and outs of running a busy café. By 2014, he was managing the team, and since then he’s honed his skills in everything from creating new dishes to discovering the perfect loose-leaf tea blends for customers to enjoy.
Now at Harry’s on the Square, he brings that experience, local knowledge and love of good food and drink to create a café that feels like home.
And yes, he’ll always make sure your tea is just right.
